The Shops At Atlas Park: The Atlas Solution
The Atlas Solution was developed by theKbuzz for The Shops At Atlas Park, a single location shopping center, launched at the time of the 2008 Economic Stimulus with a plan to stimulate the local shopping economy by dropping cash into the hands of Queens residents.
We started by handing out single dollar bills with stickers attached to them which were marked with "The Atlas Solution", and drove people to a website. On the website, it explained The Shops at Atlas Park's mission to help the economy by injecting $20,000 of private funds into the hands of consumers. Customers who shopped at Atlas and wore their sticker would be eligible to win cash in increments of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 dollars! In addition, the shops were waiving their parking fees until the stimulus checks from the government arrived. Touting the program as Atlas's solution to the economy-- the program generated a ton of interest from consumers and media alike!
The program also took off on new media platforms. We established a Facebook and MySpace page, along with a YouTube channel, all of which have hundreds of subscribers. A YouTube phenom called Katers17 even created a video about the program, which prompted us to launch a user-generated YouTube contest!
