Dave and his work have been featured on CNBC's "On the Money", ABC World News Tonight, the CBS Early Show, and the New York Times, and countless blogs. This past year theKbuzz has expanded, with a new office in Boston and Chicago, and new clients, including Heineken, IMAX, Cumberland Farms, Uno Chicago Grill, Verizon, 1800Flowers.com, and Stride Rite. Extended Bio:
Dave
Kerpen's history of buzz and word of mouth marketing began even before
he graduated
from Boston University in 1998. As a stadium vendor in 1996, he
raised sales
of the stadium's lowest selling product Crunch n Munch by 400%,
through the
concept of thematic vending. When he graduated, he became the
top seller
at the Boston Radio Disney station, before leaving to form his
own company,
Dave Kerpen Strategic Consulting, handling clients like Diageo
and Stop
& Shop Supermarkets.
Whatever project Dave has worked on has
attracted
massive buzz- whether it's training thematic vendors for Guinness,
planning a
multicultural celebration outside his office in Queens, NY or
simply
getting married on a baseball field in front of thousands. That
wedding,
dubbed "Our Field of Dreams"-achieved Word of Mouth GOLD-landing
him on ABC
World News Tonight, CBS's The Early Show, CNBC's On The Money,
and hundreds
of blogs across the internet.
Dave always
understood the power of "buzz"-but it was his wedding concept
that
convinced him and his wife Carrie to start theKbuzz, a marketing firm
dedicated
entirely to generating Word of Mouth. As
social media emerged as
a set of
tools that could rapidly increase word of mouth, Dave had the
foresight to
form partnerships with Facebook, along with several agency
partners
that had yet to fully understand the power of the medium.
As the
Chief Buzz
Officer at theKbuzz, Dave took a firm of two that was run out of
his
daughter's nursery, and grew it into a premiere Word of Mouth and Social
Media
Marketing Firm, with triple digit year to year growth for three years
in a row.
The past year has been a busy one for Dave as theKbuzz has
expanded,
with new offices in Boston and Chicago, and new clients, including
Heineken, Cumberland Farms, New York City Department of Health Uno Chicago Grill, Verizon,
1800Flowers.com,
the Weizmann Institute, and stride rite. Dave is proud of
theKbuzz's
2008 WOMMIE Award from WOMMA for excellence in Word of Mouth
Marketing,
but prouder of his two little girls at home-- Charlotte and Kate.

Carrie Kerpen, Queen Bee @theKbuzz
|
Carrie Kerpen is known as the Queen Bee at theKbuzz, a strategic word of mouth and social media marketing firm. Prior to building the company, which manages the social media presence of over 150 brands, Carrie’s background was in traditional media, first as the top selling account executive in the country for Radio Disney, and then as a station manager of Cox Radio’s WBLI on Long Island. She has spoken at various events, including the National MS Society Fall Leadership Conference, and is the moderator of the WOM-COMM social media certification course offered by the Word of Mouth Marketing Association. She is a chapter leader of Women on The Fast Track, and is committed to helping women entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of work life balance. She is the proud mom of two little bees, Charlotte and Kate Kerpen.
Extended Bio:
Carrie Kerpen was there on the day that Radio Disney opened it's doors,
and it's music, to tweens everywhere-- as the first intern @ the Boston
station. She credits that internship with her realization that
internships are everything when attempting to get your foot in the
door. She proved that by kicking butt at the station, and securing a
job with their top client, Stop & Shop Supermarkets, leading their
Kids Marketing Program. She then took that Kids Marketing experience
to Polaroid, launching the IZone Camera, 1999's #1 selling camera in
the country! In 2001, she returned to Radio Disney, where she was the
#1 seller of Disney stations across the United States. She then went on
to manage Long Island's Hit Music Station 106.1 BLI. A long career in
traditional media, Caroline's first foray into BUZZ was through her
wedding to longtime Buzz Builder Dave Kerpen.
At theKbuzz, Carrie is responsible for day to day operations of
theKbuzz-- primarily developing new buzzness, and keeping theKbuzz
adequately staffed and prepared to execute all of the new
buzzness that's created on a daily basis!
Carrie serves on the board of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Island Chapter, on the Advisory Committee of the Queens Museum of Art, and is a Chapter Leader of Women on the Fast Track. She graduated from Emerson College in 1998, and is a member of the Presidents Circle at Emerson.
Carrie is a proud mommy of two little bees, and is considered the "Queen Bee" of the Kerpen home and theKbuzz. |
